DMX: Injuries and pain that can change your life: small accident, big injuries

Some of the "smallest" accidents can cause the biggest injuries.  It doesn't take a semi truck to hit you head on to cause serious injuries.

How many times have you heard of a car that was totaled and the driver walked away without any injuries?  When this happens you say, "someone was very lucky."

How many times have you heard of a "fender-bender" and the driver sustained many serious injuries?  I know, when you hear of these you say, "Ya right, this person is milking the system."

Honestly, some of the "smallest" accidents can cause the biggest injuries. About my car accident...it was a little one....for the car that is.  For me....yes I was "looked at" as if I wasn't really hurt.... it wasn't until additional tests that were run that it was discovered I really was hurt (imagine that).

What is important to know when you are involved in a car accident is that NO MATTER how LITTLE the accident was go see a DOCTOR.

If you do require emergency care....make sure YOU or someone you trust knows what is going on and what treatment you are being provided.  Emergency Room Doctors are NOT specialists...they are there to SAVE YOUR LIFE.  It is essential that YOU or someone you trust knows what is going on.

If you are going to a Doctor that still uses the standard x-rays your injuries may be missed.  What happens when injuries are missed...you are treated WRONG.  Often times your symptoms are treated and not the injury.

Digital Motion X-Rays (DMX) can find injuries that the standard x-rays miss.  When you have DMX your injuries are discovered sooner which means your injuries are treated sooner....not just treating the symptoms!

Don't settle for the old X-rays....choose Digital Motion X-Ray!

DMX: Injuries and pain that can change your life: whiplash

Whiplash is an injury that can be caused by a car accident. There may be minimal or no damage done to your vehicle which will lead the insurance companies to claim that you were not injured in the accident.

Also, you may not know you are injured for weeks after the accident. I know this first hand from my car accident. It wasn't until a few weeks after my accident, and after I told the other party's insurance company I was not hurt, that I could barely move. After months of doctor visits I learned of my neck injuries.

Symptoms of whiplash include neck pain and stiffness, headaches, pain in the shoulder or between the shoulder blades, low pack pain, pain or numbness in the arm and/or hand, dizziness and/or ringing in the ears or blurred vision.

When you are involved in a car wreck it is essential that you seek medical attention from a board certified Physician to treat your injuries. I want to stress that even if you do not think you are injured still make an appointment! I was involved in a car accident years ago and didn't think I was hurt.....until three weeks later when I could no longer move. Most drivers carry usually carry $5,000 in MedPay so check your policy...if you don't have it....it is worth the few dollars a month to add to your policy.

It allows immediate medical treatment so even if you don't "feel" injured you don't have to worry about the bills. It's better to go in and make sure you are healthy.

Dr. Sutton:  "Injuries such as whiplash usually may not show any symptoms for hours, days or even a week later. If you've been injured in an automobile accident your injuries will probably not heal on their own. A soft-tissue injury is permanent and if scar tissue forms in your muscles, it may leave them less flexible and prone to re-injury if not treated."

Don't settle for the old X-rays....choose Digital Motion X-Ray!
